PlastBric
Bricks made of 100% recycled plastic for sustainable housings for people in need
What we do
Created by seven business engineering students, PlastBric is a startup specialized in the construction and sale of ecological and easily stackable bricks made from 100% recycled plastics.
With the collaboration of various NGOs, our objective is to help populations of refugees and asylum seekers by giving them access to proper housing. To do so, our bricks have been designed and thought out so that they can be assembled to form small, sturdy and solid houses.
Not only will the use of plastic waste ensure acoustic and thermal insulation as well as permeability, but also help address the current plastic issue.
Where we act
Many countries are concerned by the refugee crisis. Millions of people have been forced to leave their homes because of war, lack of opportunities or natural disasters. Entire families as well as single people find themselves without a real home and deserve help.
PlastBric is established in Greece and will start by helping its population.
In the years to come, we would like to also aid populations in need in the Middle East. Currently, the countries hosting the most refugees and asylum seekers are Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran and Iraq.

Our Goals
Provide housings to refugees
An estimated 70.8 million people worldwide have been forced to leave their homes. Among them, about 25.9 million are refugees and about 50 per cent are under the age of 18.
Many countries are struggling to provide adequately equipped shelter facilities.
That is why PlastBric wants to build construction units to help these populations and give them access to decent housings.
Reduce plastic pollution
Plastic is not biodegradable and 91% of it is not recycled. Therefore, all that waste could exist for hundreds or even thousands of years. That is why one of PlastBric's goals is to use this plastic and transform it into sustainable bricks. Those bricks would indeed be made 100% of recycled plastic and would help reduce overall pollution by giving a second life to plastics.
